Do you find yourself with low energy? Are you not quite as mentally sharp as you use to be? Do those pants just not fit like they use too? I bet you have looked on the internet for what to do.... You search and get 1,000,000 different answers. You find things like the Keto diet, or intermittent fasting, Paleo diet, pea soup diet, and the list goes on and on. It's confusing and frustrating. I never say "you should go on this diet". Diets don't work. The one thing that all diets have in common is they restrict a certain food group. Whether it's carbohydrates, fat, or not eating at all. These diets aren't sustainable. They work initially and then you start to crave the food that you are cutting out. Eventually you say I will have a little bit of that, and then more and more. You get the idea. You will end right back where you started if not worse. I've seen a 1000 times. So, what sets the Mediterranean diet apart? I hate the word diet, but this is more of a life style. It's not as sexy, or instant. The Mediterranean diet has been one of the most researched diets out there. Study after study concludes the major health benefits. The diet doesn't restrict, but encourages 7-8 servings or fruits and vegetables daily, high omega 3 foods (like salmon, tuna, mackerel, walnuts, flax), whole grains, minimal red meats and dairy products, and avoiding simple sugars (cake, donuts, etc). This diet is high in fiber, good fats, and low in processed foods. If you want to shed a few pounds, think clearer, have more energy or just plain feel better this "diet" is for you!
